Pope Francis has launched a worldwide process of listening and discerning:  a ‘synodal pathway’ from October 2021 – 2023. Synodal means ‘journeying together’. The Pope is inviting the entire Church to reflect on this theme: “It is precisely this path of synodality which God expects of the Church of the third millennium.” It is a time of journeying together, to reflect, to share our experiences as members of the Church and alongside all journeying in the world. Please stay behind for an hour after the 9am Mass at St Pius Xth on 12th December to hear more about why it is so important for each one of us to answer his call to participate.

Many homes have taken part, popping small change into this much-loved box throughout the year, to support the missions. If you are a holder of a box with any coins in either parish, please return them to Debbie for counting by next Sunday 12th. Also contact her If you would be interested in joining the scheme or could volunteer to be our local parish rep.

Join us in an ecumenical time of prayer and worship for Advent, at 6.30pm Sunday 12th December at Withywood Church, based in the Withywood Centre.

7pm Friday 17th December

St Dunstan’s, Keynsham.

Pope Francis reminds us that the Sacrament of Reconciliation has a firm place in our preparations for Christmas in order to taste and see and live in His deep mercy.

As we really start to anticipate the coming of the Christ child, we invite you to bring the figure of the baby Jesus from your cribs at home to Mass on Sunday 19th December for a special blessing. Please stay behind to help put up the Christmas Tree and Crib.

10.30am Mass Friday mornings

Sacred Heart Church, Chew Magna

It has been wonderful to catch up in person with some of you whom we haven’t seen for a while. We pray in hope that in time more of you will be able to join us when you feel able to.

The meeting following our first Mass back was very encouraging. Notes are now available.

Please note the celebrated Liturgy of these Masses will be that of the following Sunday.

For future Masses, if it is chilly wrap up warm as the windows will be opened for good ventilation! Masks and hand-sanitizing are still required unless exempt.

Celebrating the birth of Christ, the LIght of the World, in the midst of the darkness.

All held at St Pius Xth to maximise capacity under the current circumstances.

61 people given food for 1281 meals 629kg food distributed!

With shopping and donations of items we received 1044Kg.

The reduction in Unisversal Credit continues to have a big impact on people's lives who are already struggling. Thank goodness all the foodbanks and those who make generous donations.

We havelaunched our reverse advent calendar. We can't do the traditional 24 days of December as there would then be no time to distribute the items so our 24 days will be 22nd November to 15th December!

If you would like to give a present, please leave it unwrapped (you could consider providing some wrapping paper and sellotape/ribbon with it). Please don't forget our young people aged 10 - 20 as we are often very short of items for this age group.

Donations can be left with Reception at the Withywood Centre, anytime between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday. Please let them know if there is anything that needs refrigeration.

Or we can shop for you if you would prefer to BACS  The Carpenters Food Store  a/c no:  45427160  Sort code: 30-94-83.

Your support has been truly incredible. THANK YOU.

We have a new email address:
